Installing Gateway firmware

In short

If you built your own hardware or need to recover a device, you can install firmware from your browser at svitgrid.app/flash.

Most people never need this. A Gateway bought from Svitgrid arrives ready to use and updates itself.

What you need

  • A Chromium-based browser — Chrome, Edge or Opera. Safari and Firefox cannot talk to USB devices.
  • A data USB-C cable. Many charging cables have no data wires and will simply not show the device.
  • A direct USB port, not a hub.

Steps

  1. Plug the device into your computer.
  2. Open svitgrid.app/flash.
  3. Click the button and pick your device from the list.
  4. Wait about 30 seconds without unplugging.

Nothing appears in the device list?

Try a different cable first — that is the usual cause. If it still does not appear, open the case, unplug the USB, hold the BOOT button, plug the USB back in, release BOOT, and flash again.

Your device is not damaged

A failed or interrupted flash cannot permanently break a Gateway. You can always try again.

Flashing wipes the Zigbee network

Installing firmware over USB — and a factory reset — erases the Gateway's Zigbee memory. The network is formed again from scratch, so every smart socket you had paired must be paired again. Your inverter data and history are unaffected.

Watching what it does

svitgrid.app/logs shows the device's live output over USB in the same browser. Useful for seeing whether it is joining Wi‑Fi, and worth having open if you contact support.
