Deye inverter monitoring that works 24/7
A small board next to the inverter reads your Deye every 5 seconds, and if you already run Home Assistant, Svitgrid takes the data from it. You see your station from anywhere, you are the first to know about a power outage, and night charging of the battery turns on by itself.

Why Svitgrid if you already have Solarman
Solarman shows data from the cloud and updates it once every 5 minutes. That is enough to see the day as a whole, but not enough to understand what is happening right now. Svitgrid reads the inverter on your network, so the data in the app is never older than a minute, or 30 seconds on the Plus plan. The ED-1 takes data through the same logger, so you do not need to turn Solarman off. If the logger does not serve two connections at once, the ED-1.1 reads the inverter over a cable.
How Deye connects: check the logger first
Deye sends data through a small Wi-Fi module (the logger) on the inverter. Which board you need depends on which logger you have. The serial number is printed on the logger sticker.
Serial number starts with 17, 27, 29, 35, or 11
The logger gives data to your home network. Get the ED-1: it reads the inverter through this logger, and you do not need to turn Solarman off. Home Assistant works too.
Starts with 26 or has 11 digits
This is the new generation of Deye loggers, which closes local access. It works with the Deye cloud and gives no data to your network. Neither the ED-1 nor Home Assistant can read this logger. Get the ED-1.1: it reads the inverter over an RS-485 cable, bypassing the logger.
No logger, or it is broken
ED-1.1. An RJ-45 cable goes into the inverter's RS-485 port (on some models it is labelled Modbus), not the BMS port. We describe the pinout for Deye separately.

Which app works with Deye inverters?
Besides Solarman, Deye inverters work with Svitgrid, an app for Android and iPhone. The ED-1 gateway collects the data 24/7 through the Wi-Fi logger, so you do not need to turn Solarman off, and Home Assistant works too. If the logger serial number starts with 26, you need the ED-1.1 gateway, which reads the inverter over an RS-485 cable.
Do I have to give up Solarman?
No. The ED-1 reads Deye through the same logger on your home network, so you do not need to turn Solarman off. If the logger does not serve two connections at once, or it is a new-generation logger (serial starting with 26), the ED-1.1 reads the inverter over a cable.
Svitgrid does not see my new Deye. Why?
Most likely you have a new-generation logger with a serial number starting with 26. It gives no data to your home network. Only a cable connection helps: the ED-1.1.
Why does Deye not charge the battery from the grid at the set time?
The most common reason: grid charging is on in the time slot, but the general grid charge permission in the battery settings is off. That permission decides whether Deye takes current from the grid. Svitgrid turns it on together with the slot.
What happens if I do not renew my subscription?
With a gateway, these stay with Svitgrid forever: real-time data, manual inverter control, and outage alerts. History, forecast, and schedules stop.
What happens when the internet goes down?
The board holds the readings and sends them as soon as the connection comes back. An ED-1.1 with a microSD slot also writes every reading to the card.
Do I need an installer?
Not for the ED-1: it plugs into an ordinary USB charger. The ED-1.1 connects with a cable, which takes an installer about fifteen minutes.
