Your Sofar inverter in the app, 24/7, no cloud
The ED-1 gateway sits on your home network and reads your Sofar through its Solarman Wi-Fi stick. You see battery charge, solar generation, household load, and the voltage on each phase from anywhere, and history records without gaps.
The app: from $2 a month.
Why Svitgrid if you already have Solarman
The Solarman app shows data from the cloud and updates it once every few minutes. Svitgrid reads the inverter directly on your network, so in the app you see what is happening now, not five minutes ago. You do not need the manufacturer's cloud for this.
How Sofar connects
A Sofar HYD sends data through a Solarman Wi-Fi stick (LSW-3) plugged into the inverter. The ED-1 finds this stick on your network and reads the inverter through it.
The stick is on the same network as the ED-1
Connect the ED-1 to your home Wi-Fi in the app, and it finds the stick by itself. The stick serial number is printed on its sticker; on a Sofar it usually starts with 23.
Two Sofar units in parallel
One ED-1 reads both inverters, and each has its own battery and history in the app.
Without a gateway
While your phone is on the home network, the app can read Sofar by itself. You need the gateway so that history records while you are away from home.

What you see in the app
Battery
Charge percentage, high-voltage battery voltage, current and power, temperature, and whether it is charging or discharging.
Solar
Power, voltage, and current of each of the two panel strings, and how much the panels produced during the day.
Home and grid
How much the house uses now, how much comes from the grid or goes to it, and the voltage on each of the three phases.
History without gaps
The gateway records data 24/7, so the chart for any day has no holes.

Questions from Sofar owners
Which app works with Sofar inverters?
Besides Solarman, Sofar inverters work with Svitgrid, an app for Android and iPhone. The ED-1 gateway reads the inverter through the Solarman Wi-Fi stick on your network, and without a gateway the app reads Sofar by itself while your phone is on the home network. Svitgrid only reads Sofar for now: you keep setting the work mode and grid charging on the inverter itself or in Solarman.
Can I control a Sofar from the app?
Not yet. Svitgrid reads Sofar but does not change its settings: you keep setting the work mode and grid charging on the inverter itself or in Solarman.
I have two Sofar units in parallel. Do I need two gateways?
No. One ED-1 reads both sticks if they are on the same network as the gateway.
Do I need an installer?
No. The gateway runs from a USB charger, and setup takes a few minutes in the app.
