What's new

Every change to the Svitgrid app, newest first.

Version numbers are app build numbers. Some improvements reach you without an app update at all, because they run on our servers — those are listed separately at the bottom.

Your battery gets its own screen

Each physical battery is now a card showing what its own management system measures: cell voltages, the spread between the best and worst cell, temperature. There is a list of packs and a detail page for each one. Where nothing is measured, it says so rather than showing a zero.

You can name each pack and say which monitor reads it, and Svitgrid compares what you configured against what the battery actually reports.

Choose a picture for your home

Setup now asks, and you can change it later by tapping the house — including a ground-mounted array with no building at all. The weather tile draws your own building, with snow settling on a flat roof rather than draping across a wedge.

The grid card prices your day

Today's import and export are costed on your household tariff, and charging the battery from the grid now shows what it cost, over any period you choose.

Smaller things

  • The battery runtime row shows a bound past 48 hours instead of vanishing, and counts down to your inverter's own cut-off rather than to 0%.
  • A household can say which inverters share one battery bank, so the pack is not counted twice.
  • Maximum sell power is now a slider with your inverter's nameplate marked on it, rather than a wall at the nameplate.
  • "Disable time-of-use during this event" was added to the battery-charge event, and editing one time-of-use slot now writes the whole schedule so the table cannot be bent out of shape.
  • Add inverter on a Home Assistant household now explains the integration instead of opening a wizard asking for a logger serial you do not have.
  • The Android home-screen widget got a refresh button.
  • Fixed: in local mode the dashboard could spin on "Loading data…" forever away from home, because each refresh restarted a read that never got to finish.
  • Fixed: daily consumption collapsed to zero for homes with an inverter on the generator port.
  • Fixed: an inverter temperature was being invented on every Solarman model from a register that is not a temperature.
  • Fixed: battery feed labels painted underneath the node icons.

The app looks different

Svitgrid has a new look: its own typeface, softer cards with no heavy borders, green highlights instead of brown, filled input boxes, and a floating menu bar hovering above the bottom of the screen. Nothing moved — it is the same app.

The home screen is now two pages. The energy diagram fills the first; swipe up for your charts. Pull down anywhere to refresh.

The energy diagram was redrawn. Power travels as a moving comet along each line, the house is drawn rather than animated, a weather tile sits above it, and the battery, grid and solar cards below carry real context instead of bare numbers. Homes with several inverters get a diagram built for them, however many they have. Four or more solar strings fold into a neat grid feeding one trunk line.

Solar forecast is now its own tab

Solar forecast moved to the bottom menu. The chart was rebuilt: a shaded band shows how confident the prediction is, the projected line runs across the whole day, and the battery's expected charge shows as hourly bars underneath. Turn the phone sideways for a full-screen strip you can pan.

Reports, rebuilt

Reports is now split into Overview and Finance. The overview leads with tiles for the period you picked; the finance tab has your green tariff settlement, insights and a CSV export.

Today's view is an hourly profile instead of a one-row heatmap, and the production heatmap now tells a gap in collection apart from a genuine zero. Production and battery charts follow the period you selected, and a battery charge curve was added.

  • Fixed: report tiles showed watt-hours with a kWh label.
  • Fixed: the house was allocated zero solar in the breakdown, and the parts added up to more than the whole.
  • Fixed: a breakdown we do not have is no longer presented as "100% to battery".

Alerts that explain themselves

Every alert now has its own page saying what actually happened — the battery level next to the line it crossed, how long the equipment has been silent, the day's total — instead of a list of internal field names.

Alerts now suggest what to do, and show you the change before you agree. A low battery on a two-zone meter offers to charge tonight instead of now, with both prices side by side. You can tick which devices a "turn these off" suggestion actually switches off — during a power cut that is the difference between dropping the vacuum and dropping the fridge.

Tapping a notification now opens the thing it is about. Before, only one kind of alert did.

If your subscription lapses

If you own a Svitgrid Gateway and your subscription lapses, you keep your live dashboard and your manual controls. Charts, reports and the forecast become a blurred preview with one button to see the plans, instead of an error. Six safety alerts — power cut, grid restored, inverter error, and the three battery-level warnings — still reach you.

Calendar

The day navigation is pinned so it cannot scroll away, the series filter moved and grew, and battery, grid and export can be laid over the timeline. Each series prints its own kWh. The in-progress hour now shows something, rebuilt from live five-minute data.

  • Fixed: tomorrow's day-ahead prices stayed empty all day and refreshing could not fix it; prices also belonged to the wrong date on the timeline.
  • Fixed: the pinned day-navigation strip painted white in night mode.

Settings

Settings is rebuilt into three labelled groups. Edit Profile became an Account screen, with delete account in a danger zone at the bottom. Inverter settings are grouped into cards.

Fixes you will recognise

  • Number fields accept the comma your keyboard actually types. On a Ukrainian keypad there is no full stop, so decimals were being silently ignored.
  • Tapping the battery on two inverters sharing one pack now shows what the whole pack is doing, not one inverter's share.
  • Picking a work mode in a Professional event now sets the mode you picked — two of the three were named the wrong way round.
  • The grid voltage chart no longer draws a straight line through a power cut.
  • Buttons at the bottom of inverter control panels are no longer hidden behind Android's on-screen keys.
  • Text under the house no longer runs off the diagram when you turn the text size up.
  • Changing a setting from outside the house now works for Home Assistant households.
  • A time-of-use slot ending at 00:00 no longer freezes the end-time field.
  • A daily counter that resets at midday no longer erases your morning.
  • Phase balance bars now mean the same thing as the number beside them.
  • Your inverter's smart load was being subtracted from house consumption and then shown nowhere, so the app read lower than the inverter's own screen.
  • Your Gateway can no longer lose readings collected while it was offline.
  • A calendar event that failed to switch a smart socket off now retries, instead of leaving it on all night.

Improvements that reached you without an app update

These run on our servers, so they applied to everyone at once.

  • Many more inverter brands. Svitgrid now reads 80 models across 18 brands, up from 4 brands. Added: Huawei, Solis, Solplanet, Sofar, SRNE, Anenji, Megarevo, KSTAR, Afore, TSUN, Swatten, CHINT, INVT and LuxPower/EG4. See Supported inverters.
  • Grid charging is priced. How much it cost to charge the battery from the grid, over any period.
  • Shared battery banks are understood, so a pack shared by two inverters is no longer counted twice.
  • New health checks watch for a battery current reported at the wrong scale, a battery sign that contradicts the charge level, and daily grid totals drifting apart.
  • The flow diagram measures grid-side load instead of inferring it, and stops splitting the house on a home with no current transformer.
  • A midnight scheduling bug was fixed — calendar windows starting at 00:00 never activated.
  • The live dashboard could show yesterday's reading; it now refuses to go backwards in time.
